SAT-C301 · Chaff Cutter / Kutti Machine

A day’s fodder, cut in under an hour.

4 blades (8 cutting edges), a 3 HP motor and an adjustable cut length — enough capacity for 600-800 kg an hour, the kutti machine that keeps a dairy shed running without turning feeding into a full-time job.

Machine Overview

Feed is a daily job. Make it a short one.

Cattle eat every day, twice a day, whether or not anyone has time to chop fodder by hand. The SAT-C301 turns that chore into a short, predictable task.

01/ OVERVIEW

What is the SAT-C301 chaff cutter (kutti machine)?

The SAT-C301 is a chaff cutter — a kutti machine — that draws whole fodder in through feed rollers and cuts it against a shear plate with 4 blades, both edges sharpened for 8 cutting edges per set. Capacity runs to 600-800 kg an hour, and the cut length is adjustable, so the same machine produces fine kutti for young stock and a coarser cut for animals that need more roughage. It handles green fodder and dry straw equally well, which matters because most sheds feed a mix depending on the season. Driven by a 3 HP electric motor, 100% made in India.

Who is the SAT-C301 chaff cutter for?

Dairy farms of any size, mixed farms that keep a few animals alongside crops, and gaushalas feeding a large herd on a schedule. It is also the natural partner to our SAT-L401 straw loader: the loader brings dry bhusa in from the field, the chaff cutter processes green fodder at the shed, and between them your fodder line is complete from harvest to manger.

Buying your first chaff cutter? Our kutti machine buying guide covers sizing by herd, why blade quality decides the machine’s life, and the safety points worth insisting on. Fodder equipment is also subsidy-eligible in several states — see the Gujarat subsidy roadmap.

SAT-C301 chaff cutter processing green fodder at a dairy shed

600-800 kg Per Hour

Enough capacity that a full day’s feed for a sizeable herd is cut in a single short session.

4 Blades, 8 Cutting Edges

Both edges of all 4 blades are sharpened, holding an edge through season after season of green and dry fodder. Replaceable wear parts.

Adjustable Cut Length

Fine kutti for calves, coarser cut for mature stock — one machine covers a mixed herd.

Green and Dry Fodder

Napier, lucerne, berseem, maize and jowar, plus wheat and paddy straw. No swapping machines by season.

Electric Motor Option

Set up for electric drive where shed power is reliable — quiet, simple and cheap to run.

Built for Daily Duty

A machine that runs twice a day, every day, is built differently. Fabricated, welded and load-tested in our own plant.

Field tip from our service team: keep the blades sharp and the shear plate gap correct. A blunt blade tears fodder instead of slicing it, which loads the drive, slows the machine and produces a ragged kutti that cattle pick through rather than finish.

Quick Answers

Chaff cutter questions, answered

What is the price of a 3 HP chaff cutter?
The SAT-C301 runs on a 3 HP electric motor and costs from ₹28,000 factory-direct (₹28,000 – ₹30,000). Transport is charged separately at actual cost by distance, and the machine carries a 1 year warranty from the date of delivery.
How much fodder can the SAT-C301 chaff cutter handle?
600 to 800 kg per hour. For most dairy farms that means the whole day’s feed is cut well within an hour, which is why the machine tends to be shared across a few households in a village.
Can it cut both green and dry fodder?
Yes. Green fodder — napier, lucerne, berseem, maize and jowar — as well as dry wheat and paddy straw. Adjust the cut length to suit what you are feeding and which animals are eating it.
Why does cut length matter?
Shorter kutti is easier for cattle to chew and digest, and far less of it gets trampled or wasted in the manger. Longer cut suits animals that need more roughage. Being able to change it is what lets one machine serve a mixed herd.
Is an electric motor option available?
Yes — the SAT-C301 can be supplied set up for an electric motor drive, which is the common choice for a shed with reliable power. Tell us your situation when you enquire and we will recommend the right drive.
What maintenance do the blades need?
4 blades, both edges sharpened for 8 cutting edges per set, kept sharp and correctly gapped against the shear plate. A blade that has gone blunt tears the fodder instead of cutting it, which loads the machine and slows you down. We supply genuine replacement blades from the same plant.
